Praising Her Savior All the Day Long

This was Fanny's life story. This was her song. And now this is her eternity. Is it yours?

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

(Refrain) This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

We've looked all week at a number of Fanny's hymns, and her lifetime acquaintances and accomplishments. Now we get to look at her present and future rolled into one. No longer is she a small, old woman wearing dark, rectangle glasses. No longer is she thinking of the time she'll spend in heaven by the Savior's side. She's there. She is living in the Light, with the strength of the Lion. She has claimed victory through grace.

Conquering now and still to conquer, rideth a King in His might;
Leading the host of all the faithful into the midst of the fight;
See them with courage advancing, clad in their brilliant array,
Shouting the Name of their Leader, hear them exultingly say:

(Refrain) Not to the strong is the battle, Not to the swift is the race,
Yet to the true and the faithful Vict’ry is promised through grace.

Conquering now and still to conquer, who is this wonderful King?
Whence are the armies which He leadeth, while of His glory they sing?
He is our Lord and Redeemer, Savior and Monarch divine;
They are the stars that forever bright in His kingdom shall shine.

Conquering now and still to conquer, Jesus, Thou Ruler of all,
Thrones and their scepters all shall perish, crowns and their splendor shall fall,
Yet shall the armies Thou leadest, faithful and true to the last,
Find in Thy mansions eternal rest, when their warfare is past.

Somehow I doubt they celebrate birthdays in heaven, but if they do, I'm sure hers is being celebrated today, and she is probably rejoicing that she's lived in heaven longer than on earth by singing praises to God. It's a pretty fair guess, considering how often she sang praises to Him down here. Let us join in praising our Savior and blessed Redeemer!

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O Earth, His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him! hail Him! highest archangels in glory;
Strength and honor give to His holy Name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard His children,
In His arms He carries them all day long:

(Refrain) Praise Him! Praise Him! Tell of His excellent greatness.
Praise Him! Praise Him! Ever in joyful song!

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
For our sins He suffered, and bled, and died.
He our Rock, our hope of eternal salvation,
Hail Him! hail Him! Jesus the Crucified.
Sound His praises! Jesus who bore our sorrows,
Love unbounded, wonderful, deep and strong.

Praise Him! Praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Heav’nly portals loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth forever and ever.
Crown Him! Crown Him! Prophet, and Priest, and King!
Christ is coming! over the world victorious,
Pow’r and glory unto the Lord belong.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, A wonderful Savior to me;
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock, Where rivers of pleasure I see.

(Refrain) He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock That shadows a dry, thirsty land;
He hideth my life with the depths of His love, And covers me there with His hand.

A wonderful Savior is Jesus my Lord, He taketh my burden away;
He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved, He giveth me strength as my day.

With numberless blessings each moment He crowns, And filled with His fullness divine,
I sing in my rapture, oh, glory to God For such a Redeemer as mine!

When clothed in His brightness, transported I rise To meet Him in clouds of the sky,
His perfect salvation, His wonderful love I’ll shout with the millions on high.

Great Jehovah, mighty Lord, Vast and boundless is Thy Word;
King of kings, from shore to shore Thou shalt reign forevermore.

Jew and Gentile, bond and free, All shall yet be one in Thee;
All confess Messiah’s Name, All His wondrous love proclaim.

From her night shall China wake, Afric’s sons their chains shall break;
Egypt, where Thy people trod, Shall adore and praise our God.

India’s groves of palms so fair Shall resound with praise and prayer;
Ceylon’s isle with joy shall sing, Glory be to Christ our King.

North and South shall own Thy sway; East and West Thy voice obey;
Crowns and thrones before Thee fall, King of kings and Lord of all.

To God be the glory, great things He has done;
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the life gate that all may go in.

(Refrain) Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He has done.

O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

Great things He has taught us, great things He has done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.
